Fresh install of Windows 7?

I am trying to install Windows 7 on a new PC I just built, however for some reason it isn't able to install it using the files on my external drive. Basically I have my external USB HDD and I extracted my Windows 7 ISO files into it. The drive is marked as active so it should install (I installed Windows using this drive before), but all it is saying is to either put in some media and enter a key or NTLDR is missing, press CTRL, ALT, DEL when I turn it on while my drive is connected.

I am unsure why this is doing it. Can anyone please give me some help for this?

*Note: I don't have another USB drive/device or an actual CD to use for the installing, this external USB HDD is the only thing I have.

when you copied the files did you make sure that the computer settings are at show all hidden files including protected system files i you didn't do so it is at top of your explorer window and you click on tools then folder options when the folder options folder is prompted you click view then you click eh option show all hidden files then there will be an other option below that will say hide protected system files then you want to check that out then after you are all done with that click apply then ok then to copy the whole os to your external harddrive go to c:\ or what drive you have your os on then copy all the file to your external harddrive then your ready to go there might be a possibility that the first time would be a bsod or windows protection error if that happens restart it again then your should be ok.

Thanks guys, I actually just bought some blank DVDs and burned the ISO file on there. It worked flawlessly, although I'm gonna be now upgrading it to Windows 8 once these updates finish installing.
