Well I had a big lighting strike at my house and it fried my Compaq laptop

. I would like to know if I can get a copy of my original invoice from HP which i need for an insurance claim.
Edit: Has any done this before

phone up compaq and see. if you explain what happened, im sure they'll be understanding

p.s. thats why they tell you to unplug electrical things

as iove started doing with the storms we been getting

You can try calling their customer service and see if they still have you on record (they should) and as if they will send a copy of the bill.

your surge protector might have insurance on anything connected to it. not really sure how that works though.

some surge protectors only have insurance for so things that cost up to so much.

yeah most are more than 15,000$ worth of equipment which is less than a computer.
