basically, my computer was where it normally is (which is out in the open as im in a small university room)

and my friend walked in and kicked the motherboard side PRETTY hard. my speakers started skipping with a random sound. and the screen froze (or all peripherals become unresponsive?)

not knowing what to do. i turned the computer off by holding the button.

i now turn it back on, and, everything runs, the fans on everything are going. so powers present.

however nothing is appearing on the screen, as if its not even plugged in, the tv cant see it.

i thought it was the GPU but noticed that my mouse lights arnt on. (gaming mouse it has lights everywhere)

so theres no power in the usb slots, they arnt working.

i was wondering, could a power thing have fallen out? or could my motherboard just be messed up? =[

thanks alot, really helpfull, i had a damn assignment to do today as well. :/

its worth noting my keyboard lights arnt on as well.

HOWEVER, my lil lamp which plugs into a usb slot at the back is still working.

when i put my mouse into the same port the lamb was using it still didnt turn on.

is my computer getting stuck at such an early stage in bootup that its just not initiating?

Welcome to CF.

Make sure all cables, especially the 4pin Cpu power cable & 20/24 pin cable has not come loose when he kicked it :D

These are pictures of both those cabels i mentioned, make sure they are in fully.

Have you took out the graphics card and put it back in?..same with Ram?... Tried taking out the CMOS battery and re-inserting it?

If all of those fail....Looks like you will have to kill that friend of yours. :D
