Friends Build. Comments or Suggestions

get a cheaper cpu and a better psu, you dont need the 3ghz, for like 40bucks less you can get a 2.4 and then put that 40 bucks into a useful psu

Do you need to stick on AMD?
Will you consider Intel?
Don't have much issue with your set up.
But just suggest you using the COOLER MASTER Centurion 534 instead, simply because it have 2 x 120mm fan inclued.

@daisy: Yeah, he'd prefer to stick with AMD. I guess he's just had good expierence with them in the past. Present a decent argument for Intel and im sure he'd switch lol.

@cheburns: No...but if you find a cheap monitor, he's looking for one.
He loves the rig. He really liked the case he picked out however. Are there problems with it? I think he wants a nice looking case with window and neons and all that fun stuff.

Whats your job. GL. Boring jobs are well...boring. :D

@ETSA DX10 is pretty important to him. Im clueless about PSU's do you have suggestions?

Thanks for all the help.

EDIT: Hes also looking for a wireless card compatible with a Netgear WGT614 V6. (IDK if that means anything to you. I just asked him what kind it was. I couldnt find it on newegg...)

Heres a case he was interested in:

Is there any point in upgrading the fan to a http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811998121

Finally got registration to work. It's really been helpful with all the suggestions from you guys. It has made me go from thinking about building a rig, to actually planning on it. Idk if that makes any sense... Keep posting suggestions! Thanks!

on that budget a 4600+ is probs enough... you just won't be able to be running tons of other stuff in the background with your games up... that budget keeps the processor at that level i feel. check on the price of the corsair 520 because someone said it was 80 bucks somewhere so shop around a little.

The PSU on newegg is ~100 bucks, but on buy.com it's only 89.99.
and i really wouldn't mind spending the extra $50 on the 5600+ instead of the 4600+.

also, I'm about 90% sure I'm gonna get this rig, so is there anything I or someone else is missing that has to do with compatability and such that could prevent it from running smoothly? I'm planning on buying it after my next paycheck, and this is a pretty big thing...

Wait! I have good deal on a computer I have...It's the one I'm running now and for $800 bucks you get it all.... 19" samsung Monitor, Some decent speakers, Wireless KB/ Mouse, Tower (Antec Sonata II), 450 watt Antec PS, Fx-55 (single core but games like a beast and unlocked mulitipliers), 1 gig Corsair XMS, 2 250 gig WD hds, !x1950 Pro (512 mb version)!, 16x Samsung DVD burner, 2 250 mm fans plus a fan controller, Fan duct with an 80 mm and a 92 mm fan, Asus A8N-E MB, Xp home, and Wireless internet card. It's been a great rig to me but i want to go quad core and get something better for the inevitable switch to vista. if you're interested e-mail me at [email protected] WILL NEGOTIATE
