From dual to quad - requirements?

If i'd want to upgrade my CPU from dual to quad, do I need to change my mobo if it is DDR2 now? Or can I just buy a new CPU and replace it with the old one?

If your mobo supports quad-core CPUs, it doesn't matter what type of memory you have. e.g. You could have an E6500 (dual) and DDR3 or say, a Q6600 (quad) and DDR2.
 
Could you help me finding out if it supports quad? I've looked everywhere the past two weeks and been trying to find out my mobo model, but all it says on every description is the whole system hardware setup, but NOT including the mobo. So irritating..
My PC model nr is M3203.
