Hi All
I'm trying to find a good HIPPA compliant ftp hosting service. What companies do you guys have experience with and recommend? I want to give my users in the field the ability to upload and download files while they're in the field.

You'd want SFTP for that.

Generally if it's HIPAA you'll be rolling your own server with specific isolation/access.
 
Might want to check out Dreamobjects using the proprietary CrossFTP. You could use a FTP client with Amazon S3, but you have to setup a server and it's a royal PITA.

HIPPA compliance means exactly what was mentioned, i.e your own server. Consider a VPS, install Fail2Ban and use iptables. Webhosting.com has good info on hosters. But I've heard good things from Stablehost.
