function key stuck on

okay i have a gateway and have been using a usb keyboard and since i have disconnected it my laptop keyboard types as if i am holding down my fn key as long as i press it while i type it types normally, 6ther w5se 5t ty*es 352e th5s.
HELP PLEASE

Try this. Go to the control panel and double click the system icon. On the system properties window click the hardware tab, then the device manager button. In the new window click the + next to the keyboard icon. Right click on "Standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural ps/2 keyboard" and select uninstall. Click ok in the dialog box that asks you if you are sure you want to do this. Do the same for the "HID Keyboard device".

Restart your laptop. Your laptop will then recognise the two devices that you removed and automatically reinstall them. Try your keyboard again.

thank you, sorry i was out of town. I tried that a couple of times and it still will not work correctly. I dont know what else to do
