Future of storage :)

Is this actully nrew technology or anything? Dont we have 500GB drives out already? the TB is just 2 500GB's models in one.

I'm kind of confussed, this doesn't seem to be to "new".

Yeah I know that it's nothing OVERLY stunning. I have lived in Japan for 5 years from 1995 - 2000 and I can tell you that a huge amount of the technology you see there never makes it out of Japan (or does so much much later). One example could be 3G phones back in 1999 ;) and so on. The funny thing is that Japanese mobiles use different frequencies and so on. One good thing.... electronic products are not that expensive down there and you have entire districts dedicated to electronic stuff (Akihabara for example).

This is pretty good but too expensive. It will probably be better and more affordable when mass production starts worldwide!
 
just because the drives are available (ive yet to see singular 1 and 2 Tb drives BTW) doesn't mean that its being used in this manner.
it always take one manufacturer to push the others to do something better; this is important for when (if it ever will) HDTV becomes the standard
