FYI - Portable Applications

This can be pretty handy. You can have portable applications on your usb thumb drive so that you can use them wherever you are without needing to install anything.

Yup, that's right. If you want to, you can also just make a folder on your PC at home and run things from that folder - just place shortcuts on the start menu, the desktop, or the quick launch menu for ease of access. Of course, if you use the menu from www.portableapps.com, then you don't even have to create your own shortcuts (I would recommend that). Anyway, directly from the PC would run faster than out of the usb thumb drive. But, if you go somewhere else, then you still have them all on your usb.
