GA-965G-DS3 Troubleshooting...

Hey guys,
I just want to run this by you guys for idea on how to fix...if not, i am down by $1000 dollars since I throw out all the box that i bought the part for.

Anyway, I recently purchased GA-965G-DS3...that is infamous GA-965P-DS3 with Intel graphic chip. This, however, will not suppose XFX Geforce 7900 GS...I do not know why. I updated driver for graphic card, enable PEG in Bios, updated motherboard bios, double check whether my graphic card is bad by using friend computer, checked whether motherboard was bad by running Integrated Graphic Processor rather than PCI-E. None prevails.

I get mad artifacts when starting even at bios...have to restart about 3 times under "last worked configuration" to boot everything correctly. Re-apply thermal to double-check spread/possible heat issue. None worked.

Any idea?

What do you have set for these BIOS settings:

Robust Graphics Booster

Also, set the PCI-Express frequency to 100Mhz.

check the graphic card on friend's computer...it works fine. Checked PCI-E slot using his graphic card...it works fine. Robust Graphics Booster is on auto...it makes no difference whether i change to turbo or not. I did set PCI-express frequency to 100Mhz...it doesn't help.

Right now, i am running onboard VGA that shares my rem...this is freaking annoying...aside from the fact that XFX 7600GS UPD3 dropped nearly 10 dollars since i purchased, I can't even get it to work...what a waste of 184.99~!

Oh yeah another thing...aside from artifacts of green colors and zigzag..and etc, after 10 secs of boot (mid-point of WindowXP logo), i get blue screen(which goes away too quickly for me to see), and then reboots itself.

Go into bios and disable the Onboard Video, and then try it and if you have a jumper on your motherboard use that instead of vigourously pressing F8 at boot up

other than CMOs jumper, i don't see other jumper setting unless someone else knows...As for why i bought 965G, I heard that 965G's onvideo actually helps with fps by other website. Lastly, I don't think pressing F8 does much about this issue.

that website is completely wrong, are they serious?

Yeah, that doesn't sound right, why would the 965G help with FPS, and I was saying on my 965 board I set a jumper to go to bios instead of pressing
F8 at boot, I figure this will help your restarting

They don't come with it. it s only 2 pins, not 3. they did this so you cant get confused with them and have it in the wrong spot. Says so in my manual. You need to get one from somewhere else like an old CD drive and use that. Either that or take out the battery...
