Which of these m/boards is the better of the two? Or if you know of a a better AMD board let e know what it is.

Obviously I'll be using it with an AMD. Probably a 3500+.

I'll be using the PC for a bit of everything. Gaming, editing etc.

uumm no im sorry the gigabyte w/o a doubt blows the asus out of the water. i think rick just said that b/c hes a fan of asus and mostly likely didnt bother to look up the specs. which is all right. but u HAVE to look at the specs when it comes down to two different highend mobo mfgers. the gigabyte has nf4 NB which is alot better than asus' VIA NB. And the number one reason not get the asus is it has the AGP interface which all videocard mfgers are goin away from. pci-e x16 is where its at. if those boards are your only two choices go with the gigabyte. you will not regret it.

Regardless, the Gigabyte is probably the better of the two boards, it kind of comes down to a comparison between the NF4 and the K8T890 ... if you're building a performance oriented system i'd consider the nF4Ultra (although between the two I'd say the edge goes to the NF4 .. of course you can probably hunt down a NF4U within the price bracket of the NF4) but if you're building a "sit there and just work" machine, get the cheaper of the two

Thats funny because the ASUS board isnt an AGP one ....

both are good go with the cheapest spend the money on the cpu(a better one)
there are differences between them that suggest choosing! and the price delta will not give enough to up your cpu
