Just a quick question, what is a preinstall driver, what does it do, and in what situation would I need it?

Those are usually for SATA ports when you want to install the SATA controller before installing Windows. Just stick the files on a flashdrive and plug it in. When selecting a hard drive to install Windows on, click Install Driver.
