Game companies are dumb!

Most of the games out there, my 2-year-old laptop can't even run... Financially, game companies are numb as nuts. Why can't they make games that run on your average system?

Games that run on an average system aren't what we crave; we want graphics that throttle the limits of your gfx, cpu intensive action, and something that will make us itch for an upgrade.

^ Couldn't have said it better, hehe.

That would beat the whole purpose of getting or even making high-end video cards. Besides, most new games do run an average computers, on very low graphic settings though... But that's another story.

^ Right... Ok, so get this, Unreal Tournament III is like at least 1 year old... Right? Well, it can't even run on my Core Duo 2 laptop with 2GB memory!... The system requirements of games being released today is laughable. Who's gonna ditch a good Core Duo 2 system to buy something just to play games?

that would be like holding all the kids back just because of the one dumb kid in the class. i dont pay for mediocrity, and i don't want mediocrity to be the goal just to better accommodate the masses

You can buy a good enough GFX card and processor to play most games on all High for 200 bucks, +laptops aren't meant for gaming? They don't even put GFX cards in them, unless you buy an expensive one.

If you are going to game buy a computer, technology has changed alot in the past year and continues to.

^ No, that would be like holding back the rest of the middle class class, while allowing that one rich kid to buy the game and play. Pretty dumb logic, if you ask me, when what you're after are profits.

(PS: There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting profits. If your company does not generate a profit, you are a source of evil on society).

they do make games that run on average systems its just that your system is far from average.

blizzard makes lots of games that look like crap you could invest in

you don't have to be rich to build a 800 dollar gaming desktop.

the more you go one and on the more you prove you know nothing about hardware

Hey shooters aren't the only games for consoles.

I think, racing and fighting games are a lot funner and enjoyable on consoles than PC

I do agree though that shooters suck, real balls when it comes to consoles IMO

I agree with Vizy, we want to make our games look at realistic as possible. It makes us want more and push the limits of our setup.

I tried resident evil 5 for the ps3 a few days ago, the Co-Op is killer

+1 for PS3

No auto aim, that game is a challenge it takes finesse.

I hate in math class when some idiot asks a really dumb question xD makes the class get held up for like 10 min why the teacher trys to help him

^

I love playing games on my PS3 but man I can't play Far Cry 2 properly compared to playing it with a keyboard and mouse.

Who's gonna ditch a good Core Duo 2 system to buy something just to play games?

Gamers, thats who....
And trust me, there's enough out there to make it more profitable to invest in creating an outstanding game with great graphics then wasting time developing games which have sub-standard graphics.

Most off the shelf computers nowdays come with decent graphic cards too so almost everyone can play high end games.

ok they can either...

make a game with awesome graphics that will run on "average" computers if you turn down the graphics to look "average"

or they can make a game that looks "average" no matter what you play it on

common sense?
