game problem need help

hi guys, i have a problem and after lookin around the internet at diffenrent
computerforums i found you guys were the most helpful to eachother.

ok heres the problem i hope you can help me with.

- i got age of empires 3 yesterday for my son and i have cheacked and my computer
exceeds the requirements for the game so there shouldnt be any problems
but there is... for some reason the graphics wont work as are ment to and
if i try ajusting the graphics then the game crashes and says "error running this program
send error report bla bla bla"

i no its not the game because i tried it on a older computer of mine that doesnt meet
the requirements and the game works fine just the graphics are crap and its slow.

ive tried everything stoping things runnin in the background uninstallin installing.
so ive give up and decided to ask for some professional help.

hope you guys can help.
 
ive done microsoft gameing scans and everything and my computer has all requirements.
something is just stopping it from working.
like i said it works on a old computer that doesnt meet requirements.
 
I understand that, but please post what you are running and what requirements the game needs. It could be a configuration problem but we wont know without knowing what your working with.
 
ok im sorry, the game requirements are: xp-256 mb ram, 1.4ghz processor,
2gb harddrive, 64mb video card,
- im sorry for being such a newbie lol but how do i find out my system requirements?
 
Go to the start menu, Run, and type "dxdiag". The diagnostic tool will be brought up, the first page will list your processor and RAM/memory, as well as operating system and directx version. If you click the display tab on the top, it will then list your video card.

Tell us what you find. If your computer is enough to play it, the problem probably lies in something simple, like you didn't install/update video drivers, etc.
