thats plenty of money for a decent build, ive got to to something right now but if someone hasnt posted a build list before i come back i will do one for you. ;)

Do you need operating system? XP? Vista? Do you need monitor? or is the £1500 budget just for the system?

That computer looks awesome.

Its just missing an HDD such as this Seagate 7200.10 500gb, normally I'd say 7200.11, but the price difference is a bit big and I am not sure if it would be worth it for a 55% price increase.

Besides that, maybe I'd go with the Corsair TX650 PSU.

Leave plenty of room for other things or for keyboard, mouse, monitor...

Nice build Neva!

ohh yeah damn forgot the hdd, sorry mate.

well if you dont need the os you can knock that off the price of the build

-£63.02

and that could go towards the hard drive you mentioned.

you have a great budget though.

tell me is it cheaper to build your own computer or get it build for you by the stores on the internet i allso want SLI

for a gaming rig yes it will be cheaper....quite alot actualy to build yourself.

SLI is a waste of money, why would you want to go SLI anyway when ive listed a 9800GTX :D

well with your budget you can certainly afford SLI, unless i read wrong you still have at least 600 pounds spendable? i would just add another 9800GTX and a better power supply.

oh and you wont be able to use the motherboard nevakonaza posted, something like an EVGA 780i would work for your needs though.

can you tell me what you think of some items i was looking at
1 ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 DVI HDCP HDTV out PCI-E Graphics Card
2Hi-Power Black 1000W Modular 13.5cm Fan PSU - 4x PCI-E, 20+4pin, 6x SATA
3ASUS Maximus Extreme Republic of Gamers iX38 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX
4Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL5(5-5-5-18) Heat Spreader Lifetime Warranty

what else can you think of

I believe the 8800GTX is not as good as the newer 9800GTX. I would also advise against SLI as it would probably be more profitable to just get a new GPU in maybe 12 months and have a better system. Unless, of course, the games you play now don't give you enough FPS to be able to play the games now, but if the 9800GTX is enough now, then I wouldn't SLI.

I do not know Hi-Power, so I can't comment on that, but most likely you don't need 1000 watt.

The Asus maximus is a X38 mobo which means it won't be able to SLI, but other than that, it is good.

As for the 8gb RAM, well it is probably excessive for now, but what exactly are you doing that requires that much RAM ?
