Games always crash

I have no idea why. But its starting to get annoying. Everytime I play a game the pc will freeze up and all you can hear is a whistle coming from the speakers. This can happen 10 minutes into a game or maybe 1hr into the game.

What could be causing this problem?

I know heating isn't a problem cpu will never go +50~c. GPU has a nice and stable temperature.
 
Have you overclocked your video card at all? A common problem with games freezing is that either your CPU/RAM/GPU is overclocked too high for the voltage and/or timings that they are set to. Even if temps aren't a problem, the lack of needed voltage can cause instability.
 
Hmm I shall put my cpu back to stock. See if it crashes. If it dont Ill knock up the voltages.

eh i doubt the cpu is the problem with that cooler, unless the cooler is placed on correctly. when you overclocked, did you bother changing the ram speeds? also have a program monitor temps while in a game and check back to them every few minutes or so, that'll tell you if any temps are off
 
Yeah I oc'd the cpu & ram together. Since I went back to stock speeds on the cpu it hasn't crashed... So that may of cured it but we'll see what happens.
 
Still my pc completly freezes. I think I have done everything except for buy a new computer... Any ideas?
