Yeah the C2D will be better,It also has 4MB L2 Cache,Where the Turion™ 64 Mobile only has 1MB L2 Cache .

Isn't that intel core 2 duo for laptops alot more expensive then that amd u named??? if ur just customizing and laptop off dell website keep a budget in mind! They add on pointless $$$ for no reason!

The Core 2 Duo would be better, but it also depends on the video card, RAM, and hard drive you choose.

The m9700 can have SLI graphics cards and single core, the 1710 can have one 7950GTX and dual core (C2D). I would wait a couple of months for the Santa Rosa platform, Higher bus speeds better support for things. And DX10(that might be a long time, but for the money worth the wait.)

i suggest you check out the new m9750, which has core 2 duo, ddr2 ram 667, and single or dual 512mb geforce 7950 gtx, for virtually the same cost as the xps, here's the link:
