Gaming and Emailing

I want to get a lcd monitor that i can use for my computer and my 360.

I currently have a 20 inch flat screen, conventional tv that is very sharp.
If i get something like this will i be able to get the same quality i would from that conventional tv while playing games like halo and gears?

You'll get a lot better quality. You can play in HD on the monitor vs. playing in SD on the SDTV.

it says HD quality on the dell page, will i be able to get 1081 or whatever the hell dpi that everyone says is great or will it even matter?

You'll be able to get 720p (1280x720) HD, which is great.

It's 1080p and people say it's great to justify the expense. Unnecessary.
