Can you guys help me with a list of what to get to make a computer soley for gaming. The majority of games played are the first person shooter like call of duty 4,latest battlefields and i would want it to be ready for future games. I have no budget. Any help would be aprreciated.

I would also prefer to stick with AMD and i have had both amd and intel and amd seems to have performed better to date.

Cheers.

Don't choose 680i MB, it will not support 45nm C2Q coming out later (Jan 08). No room to upgrade in future.
I personally will not go for 8800GTX, simply because I don't think it is worth to pay a extra $200 for a 3% improvement on 8800GT 512MB. Or you should get a 8800GTS 512MB coming out later (mid dec? not sure) it should better than GTX.

Hmm...:

QX9650
x38
Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB DDR2-800
EVGA 8800 Ultra
1010W PSU
Antec 900
Zalman 9700
Lots of Case fans
DVD Burner
WD Raptor (x2 in RAID)

Meh, bored :P

as far as i know there are no motherboards out the support the 45nm c2q yet, only the c2d. but i could be wrong

anyone else tired of these "throw me together a computer but i will never post back when i actually build it" threads?

Yes there is... LOTS... I should start with: P31 Series. P35 series. X38 series.
