Gaming Computer Build

Why AMD?
Personally go for intel

E8500 + GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R
Video card: go for ATI 4850 or 9800GTX+

Even you go for AMD, Your mobo not support SLi
For AMD set up, 790FX chipset for CF. 780a for SLi
For Intel, X48 chipset for CF, 780i for SLi

Soundcard: I personally haven't experience low end sound card, don't know if it worth over onboard.

I just prefer AMD, always loved it :).

I don't know how I missed that my mobo didn't support SLI..good thing i posted this. However, I see that the mobo you linked was a little more pricey, do you know of any others slightly cheaper? Or maybe I should just get 1 GTX and no SLI?

As for the soundcard, what would you recommend? I don't have any experience with low end sound cards either really, or even higher end ones to be honest.

Thanks a ton for all the help guys.

At the moment I would go with an Intel based PC...
A Q6600 will be about the same price as your 9950, and will overclock more with lower power. I'd get a 4850 or 4870, a 4850 is the competitor (and wins) for the 9800gtx.
Get this board with your Q6600.

Ok, so replace my CPU with
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017

replace my MOBO with
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138123

replace my 2 GPU's with
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102770

and I think I will drop the cheap sound card all together.

Sound good now? And with those changes, I hope everything else is still compatible..ill go check now =p

looks good.
for the video card i'd suggest one with a better cooler, or look into buying an after market cooler, my 4850 with the reference design heatsink/fan will hit 90c load with 50% fan.
if you have the money i'd get this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127370
it's 189.99 with 30 MIR...

a decent graphics cooler (aftermarket) costs 40 bucks, so i'd just get this card. the heat from the graphics card will heat the rest of your case alot, so i suggest something with good cooling.

Get a X48 chipset Mobo instead of P45.
The reason is P45 only support CF at x8 speed, while X48 chipset at x16.
What is the point of wasting money on running CF set-up without full use of the video card?
I would suggest you either go for X48 chipset with CF ATI4850, or just go for the cheaper option of getting ATI4870 with a P45 Motherboard.
