i am looking to buy a new computer and i would like it to be a gaming computer. i am not a big gamer on the computer since i have ps3, some of the games that i would play would be some of the call of duty's, red orchestra, battle field and a few others. i am one that doesn't play wow, or crysis if that helps out a bit. i also would like to be able to have lots of songs and music on it to. i don't need it for school either. The computer we have now is like 10 years old and is about to have a heart attack. i don't want to spend a lot of money either like around 899 with a monitor included would be my limit.

Also if this helps you out a bit what should a gaming computer have in it to be like average.

Thanks

Well I would also like to get help on the said topic. There are so many suggestions that I get from people but they are definitely confusing me to come to a decision. Actually there are not many friends of mine whom I have playing such gaming computers so I decided the best way to get an answer would be to refer the subject to the experts in this community where I can expect a reliable suggestion.
Primarily I do not know whether Intel or AMD is going to be the right one for me.

If you can afford it, go intel. you guys can afford it. The biggest question is, would you want to build it yourself?

daisys suggestions r good.

i am pretty handy but when it comes to computers i have no idea what to do also what about a laptop would that be a better way to go?

You would have to pay more for the same performance. So, if you want a cheaper build that can run games you will want a desktop.
