about how much would a gaming computer be? honestly its just going to be for games specifically Rome total war 2 and i'd like to run it on full settings. so about how much am i looking at?

Well it depends on your currency and demands obviously. $1000 USD will get you a good gaming PC.

500 dollars is pushing it a bit, that's a tiny bit too low really for a good performing rig.

Still a bit low probably, 750 or 800 would be the lowest you wanna go probably.

Are you thinking of building it yourself?

You can build something for 5-600 that will play pretty much anything out on Medium and most on high/max. I think though that if you're going to build it and have a way of gaining more money towards it. Save and wait. Saving an extra hundred dollars will save you way more in the long run so you don't have to upgrade sooner.

Yea I'm building it myself. but its not for me. I have a good computer this one is for a friend. I just didn't know how good it would be if I built it for so little

With a lower budget your limited with a lesser CPU and GPU but can survive on a sub $500 gaming system for a few years. Would look into an I3 or AMD build, 8GBs memory, no SSD, and try to get the best GPU you can afford with the remaining budget.

won't be 60 FPS on Ultra anything, but its something and could most certainly leave your friend with an upgrade path in the future when more money could be put into the system.
