Gaming Computers - pricing?

So I've been out of the computer-scene for a while, building wise, and haven't really seen what specs are needed for games nowadays, and am curious if it's possible to build a gaming rig for 500-600$ that will support all the newer, next-gen games that are currently being developed / on the market. Thanks for reading and any replies that i might get, i appreciate it.

Actually, one more question - Does Dual-processors make a substantial difference in gaming ? Thank you.

With 500-600$ for all the new games out/coming out, then most likely no.

You can build a low end gaming rig with that kind of money though.
 
What price range are we looking at would you think? I don't want the most incredible PC ever, but i'd like something that is in between low end and high end.

God i think i lost all memory of anything about computers, i can't even remember everything you need to run one. :\

Accessories are all fine for now, just looking for the computer itself.
 
You need a psu (Power supply unit)

The brain of the computer which is the central processing unit(cpu)

Some case fans.

A case obviously.

dvd or cd drive.

thanks for the replies, that rig you setup there is nice, Bit pricey for me though, maybe i can take some parts from it and switch it around.
 
Also, what do you guys think about customization-sites that allow you to build your own rig? good? bad? overpriced? Thanks for any input.

Overpriced mostly and most of them put crap pieces and if you select a good one they charge you more than it cost to buy it, personally i wouldn't buy a gaming rig off a website like ibuypower,etc

The one thing i was always awful at with building PC's was the wiring job, i could never ever no matter how hard i tried, get my case to be clean looking on the inside.
