Im not sure If i should get the ddr3 ram or a different mobo and case, Also would that graphics card be sufficient to play most games at high settings on a 22 inch widescreen monitor?
also anything you see wrong with this please let me know thanks again and comments welcome =)

Save yourself $100.00 and get an E8400 cpu @ 3.0ghz...you can then easily oc to 4.0ghz.

Also..

If you spend 20-30 bucks more on a motherboard you can step into an ASUS board like this

ASUS P5E Deluxe LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard for $220

comes with ROG Supreme FX II audio card!!

There is another x48 asus for 234 and it also has wifi built in.!!

is a much more bang for my buck I will probably switch that out,
aside from that does it look good? should i get ddr3 ram or stick with that deal which is just insanely cheap?

The E8400 is such a great cpu..you save 100 bucks over the e8600 and you can easilt oc the e8400..then put 20-30 extra into a better mobo and i've still saved you 70 bucks!!

DDR3 is great but depends on if u can find a good deal..

You wont go wrong with DD2 though..

I'd look into a better x48 motherboard than the DFI...

ASUS!! only 20 bucks more..plus a sound card..and wifi

Yeh man..ASUS mobo..

just search for motheroard with x48 intel chip and u can see the price range.

The gpu is gonna rock your socks man--its more than good!!:)

If you spend the saving from the cpu...and you look for x48 boards between 200-300 bucks you can get the same board as I, and a few others on here have,

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131284

also, if you want to step into a ddr3 memory board..you can do that for under 300 and still put a bit let over towards a ddr3 ram kit. (You can get 4GB (2gbx2gb) OCZ Gold DDR3 pc3-10666 @ 1333mhz for $114)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131276

So overall, changing a few things you'll have a whole different machine

..options..options...lol

Ok so i think im gonna just skip out on the ddr3 as its pretty expensive and if need be i can update it later, trying to make this comp so i can just upgrade parts when needed instead of buying a whole new setup

Im thinking ill use that same mobo you guys use, also it supports 8 gigs of ram would buying another 2 sticks be a huge overkill and be pointless?

and lucky me i live in USA =p

You have to decide now on the ram you wanna use. If you get a DDR2 mobo you have to use DDR2, and if you get DDR3 you use DDR3.//

You can't 'upgrade' to DDR3 later on a DDR2 board.

You will not be disappointed with the ASUS Rampage formula x48.

I would get a 4gb kit (2gbx2gb) of pc2-8000, or 8500 ram...and OCZ for the brand.!

I tried to do the ram thing on newegg that gives you ram that works for your mobo but there is no ocz ram that works with the asus ddr2 mobo u showed me. So i must be screwing up on something haha, also you think my psu will be fine with all the components i have now?

First off...look for 2gbx2gb kit of ocz ram ...pc2-8000, or pc2-8500,

since pc2-6400 is dirt cheap..you can also do that

..

Also, that psu will be perfect--its what I use in both my builds--750W & 800W silencers....pc/power cooling is just a division of OCZ!!!:) high quality and quiet!

Looking good!!!

Do a forum search a few guys have done basic overclocking guides...

but here is a wikipedia article explaining the basics..

k, what option do i have for an o/s only vista or can i use xp? or is vista alright for gaming?

Vista is good..either home premium or ultimate editions will be fine. I would recommend getting a 64-bit version over the 32-bit version though.

I wouldn't really recommend XP at this point anymore

Also, I think we forgot to select a cpu cooler for your computer!!!

You'll need one!...oh and a DVD/CD burner!
