My main priority:
To run games on supermax settings on a 1920 x 1080 monitor
(max AA, AS, etc.)

Some background on my build I plan to make:

Asus p67 Mobo
Corsair 600 W power supply
Intel i5 2500k 3.3 Ghz
6 Gb / 4 Gb of ram (haven't decided yet)
Titan ferir cooler
Coolermaster 430 midi case

Now:
I have chosen
EVGA GeForce GTX 480 1536MB as my GPU. My budget is basically around < £275 for the GPU.

I would be playing:
(2011 + releases)
Call of Duties
Farcries

Would it be a smarter idea to crossfire 2 lesser cards? For example:
2x Novatech ATI Radeon 5850 1024MB since my 600 W would allow me to do so..

HD 6950 2GB

Similar performance, but the GTX480 runs really hot, uses tons of power. Get 4GB/8GB RAM, S/B is dual-channel.

I wouldn't Crossfire straight away. 600W will be cutting it fine if it's a CX unit. You can always CF the 6950 later on, but i'd recommend more than 600W, or better quality, something like this.

plus 6950's have a near 100% success rate for unlocking into 6970's with a BIOS swap. With the back up BIOS there is absolutely no reason not to try it if you're getting a 6950.
