Gaming laptop

My teenage cousin is going to be getting a laptop for his birthday next weekend and he wanted me to ask those who are knowledgeable about the issue what he should look for in a laptop and if they could recommend a particular model is his price range. He will be using this laptop to play WoW and other games, surf the net/play flash games and download/manage music. He has an ipod but I'm not sure if he uses itunes or not, not that it really matters. His budget is unknown at this moment, but it's likely to be between $700-$900. He will likely be purchasing a new laptop from a local big box store, thought ordering online is an option. So any specific models or features you recommend?

After doing a little reading, I should not a phrased my question like this. There is really no such thing as a "gaming laptop" and, if their was, he doesn't have enough money to even get close to affording it. So, least crappy $800 laptop for gaming?

Pretty much. It turns out that they are going to buy used and probably off of craigslist. So I'll just have to use my best judgment and pick one out for them. I' not sure that a used $600 laptop is going to be the best for his purpose, but it'll have to do. Thank you for the recommendations, daisy.

If you don't know the speed of CPU / video card. Have a look at notebookcheck.net/ www.cpubenchmark.net

That $750 acer provide good value for money, only problem is it is an acer...
Although that MSI is just equiped with slight better GPU over acer, it has 3 year warranty.
