Gaming Laptop

Hi im thinking of buying a laptop...spend alot of time travelling around these days. However id like to play games on it say for example probably Quake 4 would be the most top spec game i have.

Any suggestions of what processor speed, grahpics card and ram would be ideal. With the new core duo's out and the different specs for laptop graphics cards im a bit lost to what would be minimumm spec and recomended.

Budget wise i would probably have about £800 to spare to roughly $1400 or so.

Cheers

yes. might be able to squeeze the budget to £1000 if need be, rather have something that lasts a while rather than something that is as dead as the dodo within a few months.

Would this be a high enough spec while still being good value? - £799

the best thing to do with a gaming laptop, is to find something right at the top end of your budget.... i think the more you spend, the better its going to be, therefore it may age slightly slower, if you buy a cheap one, you may find it ages quickly and in a few years you wont be able to play games....

Even better, I would mos def go with that.

definitely go with something centrino enabled... it'll extend your battery life a lot... and be warned that high end graphics like 7900 cards suck power like crazy...
