Gaming Mobo's?

ok im building a pc from scratch. i really want a decent board that supports sli and has 939 socket... which one is the best to buy for gaming?

Well as he wants socket 939 I would assume AMD ;)
 
As far as what classifies a "gaming" motherboard... I would think it is just how well you can overclock with it, and if it has 939 socket and SLI. Do you plan on overclocking? As far as a budget goes you could be well over $1,500 with SLI 7800 GTX 512MB. As long as we have a vague window we could help you choose a better motherboard.
 
Is that $500.00 earmarked for the motherboard alone? The reason I ask is because you stated in your first post that you are building a new PC from scratch, which means all new components. Well depending on what board and CPU you chose anywhere from a third to half of that $500.00 will be spent because you want SLI. You'll also need a good, and I mean good, PSU to go along with the mobo. We haven't even talked about Video cards.
