Gaming PC Under $1000

I was thinking about building a PC for under $1,000 and I came up with this on newegg. I tried to balance the parts out. I want it to play Crysis 3, Battlefield 4 etc. What do you think? If you had $1,000 would you build this system for Gaming or change anything?

^ that guy is obviously high.
Keep the SSD at all costs.

You could probably go with a 8320 and put the saved $ into the video card as stated though. They have a pretty similar overclock ceiling as the 8350.

Tactfulness is good. Calling somebody high because you disagree isn't...

I'd get an 8320 or explore the possibility of an i5 rig. If you can I'd get a GTX 770. Does your budget include the need for an OS? You didn't have one in the OP so I assume not. SSD is good to have but for pure gaming performance you might have a better time getting a better video card instead of an SSD. You can easily add an SSD later if you want.

Corsair PSU that PC had would be better than the Rosewill also. If you're not wanting to overclock a lot, then the 970 board is fine, but if you want to, get a 990 board.

I have no SSD and a 770. I would like a SSD, but Windows 8 boots within a minute or 2 at the most (including Steam, Origin, UEFI) which is plenty fast imo. I could of got a SSD and 760 and MAYBE cut that in half, and get better load times on games on the SSD. But I remove my ability to max out Crysis 3 and other games with a decent FPS.

Plus it's much easier to just buy a SSD next paycheck and get a 770 now, over having to sell the 760 and getting a 770 later.

I agree, Denther. A Corsair PSU would be a better idea. A 990 board would be nice, but the price on that ASRock is to good to pass up imo. Also I recommend getting 1600MHz+ Kingston, Corsair, or G.Skill RAM. BTW you'll probably never get the rated 2400 out of that RAM, because of the board/CPU.

I've had both and haven't really noticed a difference. Though it's been a while since I used the Barracuda.

Thanks all. I already have Win7 so no problem there. I have decided to get the better video card (770) and a 480GB SSD, and switch to the 8320. I'll get a hard drive for storage later..what do you think? I might switch to the Gskill F3-2400C10D-8GZH RAM since it's $5 more... is it worth it? I choose 2400 because it seems that everyone has trouble with AM3+ and getting RAM to run at 1866 even if it's rated for 1866. Worst comes to worst is that the 2400 ram will "only" reach 1866 speeds, right?

The motherboard you have choses will only support memory up to 1333mhz without overclocking. To support anything higher, you would have to overclock in the bios. I would go down to 1866 memory and get this motherboard.

The only reason why the team vulcan memory is so cheap is because of the timings, they suck. Either get 1600 or 1866 memory.
