Looks pretty good. I'm not sure whether it would interest you but, Ivy Bridge is coming out on Saturday which is Intel's newest chips. Might be something good to look at to have to most current cpu. SO that would have to be a z77 board. Just a thought.

So to save you some cash on motherboard, AsRock has the z77 which takes Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge for $170. Same board just newer chipset. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157295

I would go with the AsRock board, in my opinion. They have gotten sooo much better in quality and would take it over Asus.

Also, Newegg has some of the same prices as your tiger direct stuff, and I'm not sure where you live but you'll save yourself the sales tax if you drop Tiger Direct.

Thanks for your inputs guys and yes Machin3, I was looking at some new Ivy bridge CPUs. TigerDirect is cheaper for me because of no shipping and tax. Where I live which is California Newegg has tax and sometimes shipping, that's why I try to avoid Newegg on that list.

Same here, but it's vice verus. TigerDirect taxes me, Newegg don't. FYI, I live in Florida.

To the OP, wait aday or two to see what happens when Intel releases there new line-up.

Yup! Yeah I will wait. If I can get a comparison on the 3770k and the 3930k to see which is better, I will tell my friend to get the better of the two. Might overclock it for him too, but as of now we are just thinking of stock.

Yeah, ditch out the SB-e and wait for Ivy Bridge. And then just get a 3570k. Use the extra money on a better video card, and you'll get better framerates.

Thanks. I will take that advice. Seems like a better buy also compared to a 3770k (: Also means there will have to be a new mobo right?

Input please and thanks! (: This is my friend's new build that I've been trying to make for him. $2000 budget.

Looks great! Everything would fit nicely together.

But, if I had to change one thing in that build it would be the 7970 to a 680, just my opinion. There should be no excuse for choosing the 7970 over the 680, unless your a AMD fanboy(which there is nothing wrong with that). Again, I believe that the 680 will give you more performance/features then the 7970 @ around the same price. The 680 will give you better temps(idle/load), power consumption(idle/load), noise level(idle/load), and performance, again, at the same price point.

The 7970 is not that far behind the 680 to go as far as saying "there should be no excuse". Ever since the price cut on the 7970s, they are just as viable a choice than the GTX 680.

Could someone help me make this into a $1000 computer please. My friend said unfortunately he is now not allowed to get the $2000 build. It'd be nice to try to still keep it mid-high end gaming rig. Feel free to remove and change whatever needed.
