I know these threads have been posted A LOT, but I need some help with my rig. Here's what I am considering - but I am ALWAYS up for any suggestions. It doesn't have to be a P4. I'm certainly ok with an athlon, but I only have a budget of about 900 bucks, and this computer has to get me through school (Computer science major).

Mobo: Pc Chips M957g S. Lga775 Sata Board Mobo and PSU combined price of $285
PSU: Intel P4 630 Lga775 3.0ghz 2mb 800fsb
GPU: Ge 5700LE (at least for a few months) <--- it's the card that's in my current system Free
Processor fan: $6
Sound card: creative sound blaster live $30
Memory: 1024mb Pc3200 400MHz Ddr System Memory $120
Hard drive: 250GB $120
CD/DVD drives: $32
OS: XP 100

Total: $677

Looks like a pretty decent computer, but if your into gaming than you should get a new video card.

And does you motherboard accept PCI-E or AGP? And what type of card is the 5700LE?

The 5700LE is an Nvidia card. I don't know if the Mobo accepts it. . .I'll have to do a little checking. If it doesn't, I'll go for a cheap 6600GT or something like that, until I can afford a 512MB 7800GTX :)

your mobo doesnt have a pci-e slot so you wont be able to use the 7800gtx. It has pci and agp (x8) so you CAN get a 6600gt for 140 that is agp(x*8) or you should be able to use the card you have atm unless its agp (x4).oh and u said ur psu was a Intel P4 630 Lga775 3.0ghz 2mb 800fsb i think u mean CPU :). if i was you i wouldnt get a barebone most likely cheaper to go w/o
