Gaming/School Laptop

I'm going to be starting school in about a month and I've decided to buy a laptop. After much thinking and considering building a new desktop I decided a laptop would be better so I can take it with me. I've been looking at a couple but I want to make sure I get the best deal for the money. My budget is between $800-$1000. I've been looking at this:

Let me know if maybe there is something better out their.
 
Thats a pretty nice laptop there it would be interesting to see how it goes in games such as crysis and dx11 games like dirt 2. You would be pretty hard pressed finding a better machine than that for the price your friend is offering it for.
 
Ive decided to move the spending cap to down to $800...can anybody suggest something in that price range that i've been looking at the asus n71 since i found one new for $799 no tax =] I really just need something that wont slow down and can play WoW on high or med/high
 
well im english so i cant help with prices as much ^^ , but i can help along the lines of what you can do .
in my case done myself , i bought a basic laptop and upgraded it to gaming spec .
but with your price range the the ASUS is a very good deal !
