Hi all, below is the system i want to build. I am looking to make it last for a year or so.

Is it going to be ok for gamming?, I may need to change the graphics card but may need to upgrade.

I want to run crysis and far cry on high / mid with good frame rate (lol u here this all the time )

Will the system below do it apart from the graphics card.

Will it support SLI or Crossfire?

Cheers

I would scrap the CPU and Motherboard and go AMD you will save money and be able to get a better graphics card. Also that power supply you got will power nothing more then a 4850 so if you won't to upgrade your graphics in the future you going to have to get another power supply to. Look at some cheaper RAM like G-Skill. What is you budget so we can put together a couple builds for you.

To answer your question, the motherboard will not support Crossfire or SLI due to 1 PCI-e x16 slot.
If you are looking for the cheap side, I'd say go AMD as well. And Quads are better than Duals, imo.

G31 is a old chipset and don't allow you to overclock much.

CPU + Mobo - to keep similar budget, Go for

AMD Phenom IIx3 720
http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-238-AM

Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159073

RAM - Go for 2 x 2GB kit

PSU - I recommend min. 500W... to keep min. spending, get Antec Basiq Power 500W

Case - Make sure you have some case fan

get an amd x3 and a better mobo, you are getting a video card so you might as well get a full atx (not micro at or mATX, thats what its called there) the atx will have more ports most likely and more PCIs
