You can upgrade, so long as you make sure you get a processor that is the same socket type as your mobo.

my desktop in my sig is a G6-333c. we should have the same mobo. the answer to you question is no. the max processor of the board is the 350mhz pentium II or celeron. i was going to upgrade my system to a Slot 1 P3, but according to a like that gateway sent to me the max is a 350mhz processor. let me see if i can dig the link up for you.

ok, thanks, but right now it's P2, could i get a faster processor, but just stay with P2? would that work?

accoriding to gateway, 350mhz P2 or celeron is the max cpu for the board

im 100% the max ram is 256, but i think a cpu upgrade can be done, but nothing real drastic (250mhz+). if i recall correctly that board will run a slot 1 p3. your board is a bit different than mine.

ok, soo it will support a P3 CPU, soo 350-250=600, pretty good, my Dells 664 (original clock is 667.) i just want 2 be postive about this, before i go buy a CPU, and have it not work.

ok, then maybe i will buy that, in Everest under CPU Alias it says Deschutes, is that the only type of CPU i can use? or can i use a Coppermine, or others?
