Gateway just died

I have a Gateway laptop, its a few years old but a nicer model. I was just browsing the internet when the thing just randomly shut off. It will not turn back on, even after i unplugged it and pulled the battery out. When i press the power button, the lights that are usually blue in front of the mouse pad, blink red about 4 times. What could be the problem here?

power supply is dead and the battery is discharged, I had the same problem and have to change the power supply. make someone check the power supply if it is infact dead.
