Gateway laptop Solo Series 3500........

Hello

I have a Gateway laptop Solo Series, (#3500 according to the system check on the machine) ..........it will not read the CD-ROM drive, nothing is wrong with the drive as I have tested it on another laptop, and I have tried others on this laptop, but this Gateway Solo 3500 does not read any lCD-ROM drive, what can be done to correct this? Any possible test or such?

oh, btw..........

just to make it clear, when I go to My Computer icon, there is no CD-ROM drive icon there, it has nothing........just the floppy and C drive, nothing more.

Goto device manager and do a scan for new hardware ... this happens sometimes with laptops for some unexplicable reason... it might just pop up
