Take the RAM out of the packaging. Take off the side panel. You will see an array of cables and a bug aluminum "box". Don't worry about any of those. Look for the RAM slots. Thats what you just bought, RAM. Long and thin. Find that, it should be near the big aluminum thing(heatsink). There will be tabs on each side. press down and away from the RAM module. Take the old RAM STRAIGHT up. dont turn it over, dont flip it. Take the new RAM and put it down. make sure the slots align. You will see what i mean. If there is no way at all to make the slots align, you bought the wrong RAM. If it works, lock the RAM in place by closing the tabs. Turn on your computer. Most likely you will get a message telling the amount of memory has changed. this GOOD, even if it beeps. Just continue. it might tell you to do something like press Del to enter setup or F10 to continue. Just continue, you dont need to do any setup.

Good luck!

thanks for your advice. This is what I found and did. Located the ram and found 3 slots the ones on the outside had cards in them and the one in the middle was empty so that is where i put the new ram card. I started up and here i am. i am not sure that i did it right. as i said there are 3 slots and the outside ones had a card in each but the inside was empty so thats where i put the new ram. what do you think?
