Gateway Problem

bit by bit

New Member
Hello everyone, i'm the newbie on the block. Wanted to know if anyone might know what my problem could be. I have a Gateway 7200s desktop that is about 2 1/2 years old. I had it in a shop that i used to own and it ran great, never a problem. About 2 weeks ago i disconnected everything and brought it home. As soon as i fired it up, a small window appeared on the monitor saying " monitor is working - check pc cable and signal". I tripled checked every connection to see that it was correct and tight. Gateway,( after what seemed like pulling teeth) , sent me a new monitor, but the same thing is happening. Any clue as to what might be wrong and what direction i should head in? Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

Hello again. Checked my video card and it is secure in it's slot. As far as damage while moving it, i was EXTREMELY careful while moving it. I don't get it, can they just go bad all of a sudden like that? Thanks in advance
