gateway??

my cuz gave me a gateway laptop. its a 14" which is cool cause i wanted a small one. its less than a year old. he crashed it and had no recovery cd. so i borrowed a friend of mines recovery cd. got the laptop up and running and its a pretty sweet little machine for me to bring to school and back. my question is, how do you know what kind of gateway you have? all it says is gateway on it.

also does anyone know of a good free virus software or spam software program. im looking for an all in one if thats possible.

if you right click my computer and go to properties it may tell you. Also you could look on the laptop for a serial number of some sort. you can then put this in to google and find out.

As for free antivirus and firewall, i recommend zonealarm for a firewall and AVG antivirus

startup screen? bios? failing that you could search for the spec of the laptop on the internet
