Radeon HD 3870

NVIDIA 8800GTS

Also, i have heard 8800GTS is not able to run 2 monitors or off a television it is important to me that my computer can do this and money is also in issue where after both MIRs the Radeon HD 3870 is $40 cheaper

the GTS would blow the 3870 away, single and SLI. thats why they are priced so differently, they arent even meant to compete with one-another.

The type of memory has very little to do with the performance difference, the 8800GTS G92 (512MB) is the clear winner.

Yes morris it will support being hooked up to a tv (if you have the correct plugs), and i am fairly sure you can run dual monitors on it because of the dual plugs (not positive though!).

The GTS for single, but if you want a multiple card setup i would look into going crossfire. You'll be able to get a much better motherboard, and crossfire outperforms SLI.

My MAIN reason, was for not having to deal with a crappy nvidia chipset

SLI doesn't scale worse than crossfire

There is only one review on the internet that show crossfire scaling better. While other reviews shows SLI is as good as crossfire if not better

8800GTS 512MB performs better in both single and dual card setup.
