Hello all this is my old mans PC he is using a Geforce 5200 FX 256mb PCI graphics card.
I recently had to format his PC and now I am having problems. That I never had in past formats.

Specs of the PC
2.8ghz Celeron
2gb of memory
80gb hard drive
XP home SP2

Firstly I tried installing the newest version of the graphics card version 169.21.

Ok so a description of my problem when I plug my monitor into the 5200 my monitor will blink like there is no connection then when the PC boots up to the desktop the monitor will boot up as the card was working but will be a black screen.

Now I never ran into this problem so I tried install older versions of the drivers as well as the disc that came with the graphics card with the same result.

Anyone have any clues what the problem could be? On the newest drivers if I booted up the PC with the on board then SWITCHED the monitor cable to the 5200 I would get a small window with no icons or boxes or anything but it was a active screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Another update now the card gives a half/half screen one side black other side is green. I have a strange feeling the GPU is fried...though I hope I am wrong.
