Geforce 6600 256mb CRASHES!!

well i dont know if the temps are too hot or not the temperatures are something like this:
Processor:
idle: 57C
load:65C
System Zone 1:
Idle: 43C
load:50C
System zone 2:
idle:43C
load: 50C
Graphics card:
idle:58C
load: 75C(sometimes)

Are these too high???

The video card temp seems a bit too high but I don't know what the video card is rated for, the processor and system zone1/2 are on the warm side but they are ok

ok i just got spiderman to work. apparently it was a problem with the cd(i had incorrectly burnt it using nero from a cue image i saved earlier). when i alt-tab to the desktop from nfs 5, the first 2 times there are no problems but during the third or fourth time the game crashes. should i just ignore this?(ofcourse if i play the game for a long time it eventually crashes to the desktop) and since comanche 4 is only a demo and i dont play it much, i guess i should just forget about it. ive tried all other games from airxonix to lord of the rings: WOTR to NFS ug to motogp2, and they all work fine!! I guess the problem is more or less solved!! :D

Exactly

I know exaclty wot ur problem is. Basically, your graphics driver is too new (if that can be possible). At an educated guess i would say you are running your 6600 with the nVidia 66.91 driver. This is too new, downgrade slightly to version 61.77 which is flawless in every way with 99.9% of vid cards. The same thing happened with me. Now my sytem never crashes....EVER. I can play HL2, UT2004, everything with no glitches or crashes.

Hope this helps

You'd think the nVidia driver he was using (what ever version it was) wouldn't have anyhting to do with his i915G (onboard video) chipset eh ;)
Also, I have a 6600 with the 66.93 drivers (almost identicle to the 66.91), nothing crashes and there are no graphical glitches.

Perhaps your setup is just well planned out and effecient then. I'm running stable with nvidia version 61.77, he he he. not exactly the latest and greatest
