What do you guys think of the GeForce 6600 PCI Express?? There are a bunch on Ebay for about 40 bucks. Thought this sounded a little cheap. Is this a cheap card or should I snatch one up??

GeForce 6600GT is alright for light gaming,definitely won't work well with new games on medium settings,maybe low.

depends what games your looking to play. The BFG Tech 6600 128Mb will play F.E.A.R, COD2, WoW, and BF2 perfectly fine. With the excpetion of f.e.a.r(and maybe cod2, i cant remember how i had my settings, been to long) on meduim-high settings.

Have you considered the 7600GT? They don't go for much more than the 6600GT's($99 for a 6600GT, $112 for a 7600GT with MIR) and the 7600 is many times better.
I "think" hes talking about thereuglar 6600's, which you can get on ebay for 40$ or so like he was saying in the orignal post, and frys has instant/mail in rebate prices that are about the same a lot.

Oooh...yeah, I thought he might of been getting them elsewhere. But you never know, I recently saw where BestBuy had sold out of 6600GT's. The price was still posted... $200!

Reading the customer reviews one guy said that he could run Quake 4 at ultra quality. Another guy said that he could run F.E.A.R. on medium settings. And even oblivion on medium. Go to newegg and read customer reviews that's how I usually make my pick

I thought that the 7 series was newer and should be better, but I'm still seeing alot of really expensive 6 series cards, I'm really leaning towards the 7600gs , I found one close to me for about $150.

What cards? 6800Ultra or something? Nobody buys those cards anymore. Also, you should be able to find a cheaper 7600GS.

If he did run Oblivion at medium,he just didnt have AA on.
And the 6800GT and Ultra cards are still decent cards to use,they are the equivalent to my X800XL and they still run some of the newer games like FEAR and Oblivion and Doom 3 just fine.You'll just have to cut out AA and stuff like that.
