General FSB processor speed questions

Im trying to understand what the numbers actually means so i can figure out whats faster ect. Basically gameing so id go with athlon when i do decide to get one ( not in my near future ).

I am going off of this site. http://www.directron.com/fsbguide.html
Examples: Examples: The Pentium4 3.06GHz processor has a FSB of 533MHz. Its system clock is 533 / 4 = ~133. The multiplier is 3,060 / 133 = ~23.

The AMD Athlon XP2700+ has a main clock speed of 2.17GHz and a FSB of 333MHz. Its system clock is 333 / 2 = ~166MHz. The multiplier is 2,170 / 166 = ~13

I am 1994.1 GHZ intel pent. 4 processor, FSB 100

So my "clock speed" is 100/4= 25 ( clock speed )

so that means that 3.06 with a fsb of 533/4 is 133 (clock speed) over 5 times faster than mine???

and the athlon is 333/2 166(clock speed) over 6 times faster than mine??

I dont care about the multipiler really cauz i dont care much for big programs like photoshop and 3d porgrams..

also what does it means when FSB is Integrated into Chip??

this doesnt seem right at all but i dont understand this kinds stuff.. cauz u can get a 800fsb on newegg for like $50 and its "not good for gameing"

how do you judge which is faster for gameing?

Like mentioned in other threads I'm pretty tired now but still trying to help people. There is a thread on here somewhere really describing FSB better than I can in my "state".

This is flawed as is your quote. Your 1994.1MHz and the FSB is 100MHz which is quad-pumped to achieve a 400MHz system BUS. Your quote of the website says
FSB of 333MHz. Its system clock is 333 / 2 = ~166MHz. The multiplier is 2,170 / 166 = ~13
This is wrong. The FSB is in fact 166MHz not 333MHz.

Here is what CPU-Z says..

Core Speed: 1994.1 MHz
Multiplier: x20.0
FSB: 99.7
Bus Speed 398.8

I thought that the "quad pumped" only helped things like photoshop and 3d rendering, not gameing so i left it out. Isn't that correct?

how can i look at 2 processors and tell which is faster for gameing? If you dont want to explain i will be happy to have a URL and go read it because i have searched google a while with not much luck other than what FSB is (sort of).

Lord AnthraX said that there was another thread in the forum that describes FSB, so just go look around, I'll post the link to the thread if I find it.

Easy, something like an Athlon64 has an ondie memory controller which cuts the latencies to crap all nothing.
