General gripes about Netgear

I have a netgear wireless router and it seems that with the Netgear Wireless 300-N adapter I've been using on and off, I keep losing connection. Having reformated and went back to XP in dismay of Win7's shitty attempts to resolve the problem, I wondered if it might not be a driver compatibility issue. Now having installed XP and still experiencing the same problems, I'm livid.

I walk into the local Wal-Mart, bought the Linksys equivalent, the adapter found the network, connected, no issue. All in all, I will not be purchasing any netgear networking devices in the future. I know my case is one out of thousands and thousands of users, but I really don't get why the adapter slowly stopped working. I even bought a PCI version of the damn thing and it still didn't help. Netgear may be good for routers, but in my opinion, they leave much to be desired in their adapters.

There is a netgear internet connection somewhere around me and I can not find out where it is coming from I am starting to get ticked because when I am on my desktop connected to my connection the netgear one kicks me off and the big thing with the netgear connection is that there is no internet connection to it

sounds like you tried to connect to it once and it saved the network so when its in range it tries to automatically connect if thats the case you'll have to ( on vista ) go into manage wireless networks and delete that network
