Generally speaking, how many fps...

...can I gain by overclocking my AMD 64 3000+ from 1.8GHz to 2.1GHz? That's the most it'll go, and I wonder if it'll be worth it. I guess this is a tough one to really give a concrete answer to, but does anyone know generally what kind of CPU increase is needed to actually notice a performance difference?

You may see about 10 more FPS, I think, I may be wrong though, I'm not an avid OC'er

I have a similar CPU, and can tell you that it varies game from game. That kind of OC may give you 5fps in one game but virtually 0 in the next.

Are you sure that's as far as you can go? Are you keeping an eye on the HT link and RAM? Have you attempted to raise the voltage alittle?

Its not your CPU that will ungrade your FPS that much. Its your GPU.

Your GPU Does all the processing of the images, The CPU In simple terms does all the technical "work"

For the First question, Why don't you do it and see what you get?
