Genuine Windows?

Hi There!! i've install sp2 on my xp computer, and when i thought my windows is pirated, but it isn't!! so, i connect to the internet to download some updates that requires genuine windows, i tried one, but when i validated my windows, i got an error that my windows is not genuine!!! therefore, why i'd installed sp2 on my computer even though microsoft says that my windows is not genuine??? is it possible??? please!! my windows is pre-installed on my pc!!! maybe it could the product id that i use pirated, because my product key is genunine isn't it possible that my product id is non-genuine!!!???

that doesn't look like a typical xp serial number, but as far as whether it's legal or not, you can't really argue with Microsoft, you could try calling them and getting another key, but that also involves a reformat

and giving out your serial number isn't all that smart of an idea, could be considered a crack

The serial codes should have letters and numbers.

I would contact the company that sold you the PC, if Windows came pre-installed. Any problems would primarily be their jurisdiction.

Posting serial numbers is not advisable nor within the guidelines of the forum. That's why it will have been removed.

Even if Windows came pre-installed, you should have some sort of disk, either a recovery disk or the original hologrammed cd. Do you have either of these?

magicman, sorry for posting without asking!!! but as you said i haven't any cd or even a recovery disk it's just came pre-installed!!!

genuine check is only available with sp2 so it doesnt check when you download the sp2.

Genuine check also for computers that do not have a Service Pack at all.
