Get a new mobo and overclock, or build custom rig?

Right now, i'm looking for a little bit more out of my pc. Graphics are fine, but processing is not as fast as i would like. I have a Compaq sr5410f, which has a E2160 processor. The stock mobo is a ms 7525. The only way to overclock this thing is a pin mod, and I'm not too sure i want to try that. I'm real tight for cash, so i was wondering if it would be worth to buy a new mobo and OC this thing, (speeds of up to 3.4GHz have been reported, with 3.0 being really stable)

The only stock things left in this computer are the mobo and processor..everything else has been replaced. So suggestions? If the new mobo route, which i'd prefer, what motherboard is a good choice for me to get?

If you get a new motherboard, you will need to buy a new operating system, power supply and case depending on proprietary connections.

woah woah woah... i thought it was just the OS?

power supply and case depending on proprietary connections

Most OEM computers have proprietary case connections. So if the front usb and case connections are on one connector instead of a few, you would need a new case. And at that point, I would get a new psu as well.

I already have a OS install disc, that's not a issue.
I have a upgraded power supply as well.
So i would need a new case as well? Hm, good exscuse to get one, i've been meaning to :P
