Get data out of my dead phone?

I spilled water (and oil) on my cell phone (I need to learn to stop spilling stuff on my electronics, I already did this to my computer earlier).

It is a verizon env3 cellphone and it's dead. It's been over a week and it doesn't work. I guess I'll just get a new one, which is no problem for me. The only problem is...can I somehow get the data out of my old dead cellphone? I especially want the photographs I took with my phone.

If you saved to a mem. or sim card you should be able to retrieve those items, but i'm sure you know that.
No clue on the rest.
There are warranty co's that have cheap coverage for spills and damage. For cell phones i think you have to get the coverage within the 1st 30 days of purchasing the phone.
