Get Win 8 or stick with win 7

Ive got windows 7 atm and im wondering would you guys buy go for windows 8, ive played anout with it at work and its pretty cool i think its a novelty rather than a must have?
 
If you plan to put it on your sig rig, don't bother. HD4k has no CCC drivers for windows 8, Might want to check for your Motherboard also.

As a generality though, I think it is a brilliant OS overall. Does what is needed and does it quickly. Only issues I ran into was drivers not working, and a bit of a learn curve.
 
yeah about my HD 4xxx, its dead so i scrapped it so atm ive just got an old gfx card in there, plus i dont mind if windows 8 installs a generic driver for my GFX card as im going to buy the AMD Radeon HD7870 Tahiti
 
stay with 7. By the time it expires something new will be out again. Next time consider something like the Pro ver. Does have more features to play with.
 
Windows 7 all the way,Unless you have a touch screen monitor i think 8 metro just gets in the way.
 
I you like 7 stick with it, no real reason to upgrade. If you want to, sure go ahead. Up to you at the end of the day.

I have it and like it.
 
i got windows 8 standard, cost me 75 quid and i got to say its good so far, really like it, also dont mind the strat bar with the live tiles

Agreed with this. I don't have 8 on my own machine but have used it on a few others. Doesn't seem a whole lot different functionality wise except for tablet based features that aren't needed for a desktop. If you feel it's worth it then go for it, it's not a bad OS, but 7 works just fine still and isn't dated by any means.
